I began LARA as a nontraditional student. I had dropped out of college when I was younger, and I wanted to finish what I started. Initially, I was very nervous about returning to school, but LARA staff gave me the support and encouragement that I needed. With newfound confidence, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University in Interpersonal Communication. I have been with LARA for 20 years, serving in many capacities including ESL Substitute, Teacher’s Aide, Computer Skills Trainer, Assessment Coordinator, and Jail Coordinator. I have also participated in numerous projects and volunteer opportunities. When I am not working, I love spending time with my family. Sewing and gardening are my other passions. I also love brightening the lives of others.
